SUPERVISOR-IN-TRAINING

I fully understand the importance of positive supervisory experiences as mine have definitely shaped who I am as a therapist and how I relate to my work. I enjoy being able to guide and support my supervisees as they figure out their own styles and approaches to the work we do, whether it be similar or different to the populations or models that I utilize. I completed my MSMFT at The Family Institute at Northwestern University and am excited to now be supervising students from the program where I learned so much. I have worked in private practice settings for over 5 years and have received advanced training in AEDP, a model focused on bringing attachment theory into the therapy room. I love to work with any clients experiencing difficulties in relationships whether that be with friends, romantic partners, families or themselves. My specialties include attachment/family of origin work, the process of dating and forming romantic connections, infidelity work, and couples who struggle with high conflict in their relationships.

I bring that focus on relationships to my supervisory style as well. I use authenticity, humour and directness to support and challenge my supervisees as they strengthen their clinical skills. I feel comfortable with a teaching role if needed and find it really helpful to process self of the therapist issues as they arise. I strive to bring in different aspects of guidance into the supervisory setting whether it be help with specific verbiage, general conceptualizing of a case or anything in between. I work to be aware of different contexts and approach both my clinical and supervisory work with a feminist, antiracist, LGBTQIA+ and gender affirming perspective. Becoming a therapist is a lifetime journey of failure-driven experiences. I’d love to support you in building your own repertoire of resources and share in the vulnerability of this process with you.
